The FRC Robotics Team builds in the Spring Semester a 6 foot tall robot weighing up to 120 lbs. The team annually competes in 2 regional competitions, performs at the Science Center, and is the only Robotics Team in the St. Louis Public Schools. Team membership is open to any interested student, teacher, or adult within the St. Louis Public School System.

 

The team is currently meeting on Tuesday during the fall semester from 2:30 to 5:00 PM, to plan and prepare for the Spring Season.

 

The build season kicks off with an unveiling of the Game at the Science on the 2nd Saturday of January. The team then has 6 weeks to build a robot to play the game that will be described at kickoff. The team must create a robot that plays within all of the rules, and meets height and weight requirements.

The Emerson, Boeing, Ranken Tech, AB-InBev, WaterJet Tech, CopperBend Pharmacy, Continental Fabricators, Kiwanis, St. Peters Jaycee, GKN Aerospace, Pandjiris, Tech Manufacturing, Bates Sales, Suburban Industrial Packaging, Gateway Tech, and St. Louis Public Schools FIRST Robotics Team 931 Perpetual Chaos earned the St. Louis Regional Chairman's Award and a second blue banner this weekend at the Chaifetz Center.

 

 A FIRST Chairman's Award is the most prestigious award created to maintain focus on changing culture in ways that inspire greater levels of respect for science and technology, as well as encourage students to become scientists, engineers, and technologists. The award represents the spirit of FIRST. Elisabeth Arnold and Chirag Doshi led our effort with a ten-minute presentation and Q&A to a panel of three judges. The team was further scrutinized during numerous judges' interviews in the pits both Friday and Saturday.

 

Another distinct honor was Elena Wyllie's style and hard work earning her a place on the FIRST Dean's List, one of only two seniors at this Regional so recognized. In qualifying rounds we finished 20 out of 35 teams and was part of the 8^th seed alliance. Unfortunately we lost in the quarterfinals to a strong alliance of our friends Team 1208 from O'Fallon, IL, Team 2775 from Jackson, TN, and Team 3284 from Camdenton, MO.

 

We thank all of you who help us get to two regionals this year and the many fans that cheered us on in St. Louis. Winning the Chairman's Award also qualified us to present again at the World Championships next month in Atlanta. There we'll be up against the other 44 regional winners.

 

We meet Tuesday at Gateway after school to celebrate and prepare for the Championships. We have a car wash tentatively scheduled for April 1^st and potentially other student led fundraising initiatives.

Team 931 - along with Alliance Partners Teams 2345 and 525 won the Kansas City Regional for the 2010 FIRST Robotics Competition on March 4th, 5th and 6th.

 

The Team also won Last Years Kansas City Regional!

 

The Team competeted against 65 teams, and was selected for the playoffs by top team 2345 and 4th seed 525. The team won 3 best of 3 elimination matches to capture the championship!

 

The team can next be seen in action at the St. Louis Regional March 18th, 19th and 20th at Chaifetz Arena.

 

By Winning the Kansas City Regional, the Team has Qualified for the World Championships in Atlanta April 13th, 14th and 15th.

In 2009, the Team has its best season yet.

 

The team competed in the Kansas City Regional Robotics Championship and was picked by the #1 Alliance Captain with the first pick overall. The team went on to be a part of the Winning Alliance for the Kansas City regional. By being a winning alliance member, the team received an invitation to the World Championships in Atlanta.

 

The team also competed in St. Louis and made the playoffs as an Alliance Captain, a first for the team. The team lost in the semi-finals to the Eventual Regional Champion. 

 

At the World Championships, the team ended regulation play with an 8 - 1 record, to finish in a tie for 2nd place, out of 84 teams. As an Alliance Captain, the team selected 2 other robots to compete in its' field playoff rounds. The team was eliminated in the quarterfinals.
