Principal's Corner

Welcome to the Busch Middle School of Character Principal's Corner

This is my 11th year in the Saint Louis Public Schools. The first five years I served as an elementary teacher in Hamilton E.C.E.C. Following that, I spent two years as the Assistant Principal of Carr Lane VPA. I learned a lot at Carr Lane under the Leadership of former Principal Melba Davis. After two years I was transferred to Busch and became Principal. This is my fourth year at Busch and I love it! I am very passionate about working with kids, and I am also a big fan of Character Education (I consider Dr. Marvin Berkowitz a personal mentor of mine.) AVID and School Turnaround are also programs in our school that I think are very beneficial. Our brand at Busch is Attaining Academic Achievement!

MESSAGE FROM SUPERINTENDENT DR. KELVIN ADAMS

April 20, 2017

Dear Families,

Saint Louis Public Schools was recently notified that one of our vendor companies, Schoolzilla PBC, experienced an information security incident earlier this month that affected many of their customers, including our district. Schoolzilla immediately fixed the issue and informed us. We have no reason to believe that the incident will impact students or their information, and you do not need to take any action.

The information included basic student information but did NOT include social security numbers (SSNs). In keeping with FERPA guidelines, the District does not maintain student SSNs.

We want to assure you that we are taking this incident very seriously and have put measures in place to limit the type of data shared with such vendors in the future.

If you have further questions, contact Colette Owens, Director of Academic Strategy and Special Projects at SLPS: colette.owens@slps.org or 314-345-4570, visit schoolzilla.com/blog or reach out directly to the Schoolzilla team at security@schoolzilla.com.

Sincerely,

Dr. Kelvin R. Adams
Superintendent
